About and Contact

Hello!

I’m Kerry Crawford-Trisler.

This is my internet face.

This is my internet face.

I was born in Memphis, Tenn. I graduated from Ball State University with a degree in public relations. Ball State was an awesome experience, partially because it was in the middle of nowhere. While I was there, I took pictures of rock’n'roll shows, delivered paper to computer labs, and made feature stories and blogged for Ball Bearings.

After I graduated, I moved back to Memphis to take a job as a public relations specialist at Signature Advertising. While I was there, I wrote PR campaigns, feature articles (several about pressure washers), and learned HTML and how to update web content.

I was hired as the online vertical products coordinator at the Memphis Commercial Appeal in spring 2008. As a verticals coordinator, I managed the daily operations of the jobs, cars, homes and classifieds pages on commercialappeal.com. I was promoted to online ad operations coordinator in the fall of 2008.

During the holidays, a slower advertising schedule and urge to fix things prompted me to take over The CA’s Twitter account. In January, I was offered the position of audience development specialist. I spend the majority of my day connecting with our readers on whatever platform I can. I manage accounts on Twitter, Facebook, Ning, iTunes, publish2 and YouTube as well as blogging for The Memphis Blog.

When I’m not working at the CA, I’m a freelance social media consultant and co-founder of Radio Sweethearts (a geeky public radio fan blog). When I’m not working, I poke around record stores, read constantly and skate with the Women of Mass Destruction.
